Top eight teams are locked in for the North American Call of Duty World League Stage 2 Finals

The regular season of Stage 2 of the Call of Duty World League, presented by PlayStation 4, is now in the books. After an exciting final week, the top eight teams that will compete at the Stage 2 Finals have been determined! Here’s a look at what happened in Week 12.

DAY 1

Day 1 started off with a re-scheduled match between eLevate and Team EnVyUs. The series resumed where it was left off at 1-1. Uplink Infection was the first map, and EnVyUs took it in overtime. The match ended in CF overtime, where nV were able to win again and close out the series 3-1.

EnVyUs played another match on Day 1, this time versus compLexity. nV were able to win this series 3-0 blocking compLexity from securing a spot in the top eight.

Next up, Team SoloMid went up against FaZe Clan. FaZe started off strong with a 250-163 Hardpoint win, lead by big plays from Clayster. Game 2 S&D went all the way to Round 11, but FaZe were able to close it out. FaZe ran through TSM in Uplink, winning it 17-6 and taking the series 3-0.

The final match on Day 1 was Rise Nation vs. H2K. Going into this match, both of these teams were tied up 11-9 in the standings, so this was a much needed win for both teams. Rise took Game 1 Hardpoint 250-21 and their strong momentum continued into S&D with a 6-3 win. The series ended in Uplink, and Rise won the series 3-0.

DAY 2

The first match on Day 2 was 100 Thieves vs. eLevate. eLevate needed this win to push themselves up in the standings, but 100T came out strong with a big win in Hardpoint and Search and Destroy. Game 3 Uplink was close, but went in eLevate’s favor. The series ended in Game 5 S&D, where 100T were able to close it out and win the series.

Next up, Dream Team started off strong with a 250-140 win in Hardpoint against TSM. TSM had a 5-1 lead in S&D Game 2, but DT made a huge comeback to win 6-5. The series ended in Uplink where DT were able to pull off a clean 3-0 sweep.

The third match of Day 2 saw Luminosity go up against compLexity. The series went back forth to start, but ended in Capture the Flag with LG winning the series 3-1.

The final Day 2 match was FaZe vs. Cloud9. The series started off strong for FaZe, as they were able to take Hardpoint, but the rest of the series went in Cloud9’s favor, as they won Game 4 CTF in the final seconds to win the series 3-1.

DAY 3

For the final day of the Call of Duty World League Stage 2, the four deciding matches of the regular season were played simultaneously.

eLevate vs. Rise

Everything was on the line for eLevate in this match. The series started off with eLevate winning Hardpoint Game 1 in a strong fashion, and their momentum continued into Game 2 S&D. Rise fought back and took Game 3 and 4 to force a final Game 5. Rise completed the reverse sweep to win the series 3-2! With this loss, eLevate were eliminated from the top eight.

H2K vs. EnVyUs

This series did not look good for H2K to start, as Team EnVyUs 100-point clubbed H2K in Hardpoint, winning it 250-81. After that loss, H2K were able to bounce back and tie the series up 1-1 with a 6-5 win in S&D. This series ended in CTF, where EnVyus were able to win and close out the series 3-1. Although H2K lost this series, eLevate’s loss to Rise allowed H2K to clinch a playoff spot.

OpTic vs. Dream Team

DT came ready to play, as they clutched up to take Hardpoint Game 1. Game 2 S&D went all the way to Round 11, and OpTic were able to take and tie the series. OpTic won the series 3-1, after a win in CTF in overtime. Even with this loss, DT were able to secure a spot in the top eight.

Cloud9 vs. Luminosity

While LG were able to take Uplink, Cloud9 won Hardpoint, S&D, and Game 4 CTF to win the series 3-1! Because of LG’s map win percentage, they were able to secure a spot in the top eight and move on to the Stage 2 Finals.
