Four ANZ teams will compete this weekend in the Call of Duty World League Stage 2 Finals!

Orbit, Mindfreak, Chiefs eSports Club, and Team Immunity from Australia/New Zealand are headed to Burbank, California to compete in the region-locked Call of Duty World League, presented by PlayStation 4, Stage 2 Finals! They will fight for a chance to win part of the ANZ $150,000 prize pool. Heading into the Stage 2 Finals, here’s a look at the ANZ teams and their seeding.

  1. Orbit
  2. Mindfreak
  3. Chiefs eSports Club
  4. Team Immunity

ORBIT

Orbit scored the #1 seed in Stage 2 heading into the Finals, dethroning Mindfreak’s #1 seed from Stage 1. The team had the best record in the ANZ CWL, ending Stage 2 12-2. Orbit were unable to make it past the semifinals at the Stage 1 Finals, so everything is on the line for them to secure a spot in the grand finals this time around. Being the #1 seed, they will face off against Team Immunity first, who they are undefeated against.

Roster:

  • Nimble
  • Swiftaz0r
  • bacabec
  • Zeuss

MINDFREAK

Stage 1 champions Mindfreak are known as one of the best Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 teams in ANZ. They have been on a roll in Stage 2 and in many of the Challenge Division events. Mindfreak fell short in some key matches during the regular season, which put them in second place with an 11-3 record.

Roster:

  • BuZZo
  • Denz
  • Fighta
  • Shockz

CHIEFS ESPORTS CLUB

The Stage 2 Finals will be the first finals that Chiefs eSports Club will attend in the Call of Duty World League. After failing to qualify for the Stage 1 Finals, they were able to pick up the slack and push forward in Stage 2. At the end of the season, they finished with the same win-loss ratio as returning champions Mindfreak, but because of map-win percentage, they are the third seed going into the Stage 2 Finals. Their first matchup at the finals will be up against Mindfreak. In regular season play, both teams have won once again each other. This final time, however, it’s all on the line, as each time only has one chance to advance.

Roster:

  • Dean
  • Hopey
  • Macka
  • Rival

TEAM IMMUNITY

Team Immunity took the fourth and final ANZ spot. This squad also made it into the Stage 1 Finals, but were knocked out in the semifinals after a loss to Mindfreak. They will go up first against Orbit, who are currently the #1 team in ANZ for Stage 2. In the regular season of Stage 2, Immunity were unable to win their matches against Orbit, losing both 1-3.

Roster:

  • Azzi
  • Excite
  • Guydra
  • Killerpi3
