To get to the main stage at the Spodek arena in Katowice, players will have to advance past the round of 16, which will be played out online ahead of the offline tournament. The player lineup for the round of 16 will consist of:
- One winner of Season 1 of the ESL Hearthstone Legendary Series
- Seven players invited on merit

Eight players qualified through online qualifiers
- European and Russian qualifier - five slots
- Polish qualifier - two slots
- US qualifier - one slot
Players competing in Katowice on March the 15th will also be granted US$8,000 in travel support, with the event to function as a gateway to the Hearthstone World Championship that will be taking place in late fall 2015.

The ESL Hearthstone Legendary Series Katowice tournament is a Blizzard-sanctioned tournament where players are able to obtain the following 2015 Hearthstone World Championship points:
| 1st | 100 points |
| 2nd | 50 points |
| 3rd/4th | 20 points |
| 5th-8th | 10 points |
