See Germany's best Counter-Strike and League of Legends teams in action!

This Saturday and Sunday, the summer season finals of the ESL Pro Series are taking place in the ESL Studios in Cologne, Germany. The summer season, which started back in June, is coming to its end. With StarCraft II and FIFA 14 already having had their champions crowned at gamescom, only the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends tournaments remain unconcluded. However, although it’s the German EPS with German commentary onsite, the semi and grand final matches for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and League of Legends this weekend will have English commentary provided by Jason Kaplan. This means you won’t miss any of the epic matches, with seven out of eight teams having already won the EPS in the past!

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive: Can anyone stop mouz?

On Saturday, the CS:GO semis and grand final will be played out. With champion MTW and runner-up mousesports as well as Playing Ducks and Planetkey Dynamics all taking part, we’ll be witnessing Germany’s big four clash. Will we see mousesports’ chrisJ and his team dominate the scene like they’ve been doing all season long? Will MTW be able to defend their title? Are Playing Ducks or Planetkey Dynamics capable of surprising the fans? Tune in to find out!

  • 13:00 CEST: MTW vs. Planetkey Dynamics
  • 16:00 CEST: mousesports vs. Playing Ducks
  • 19:00 CEST: ESL Pro Series Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Grand Final

Product manager of the EPS Michael Bister said of Saturday’s CS:GO finals:
“I’m really excited to see these four teams fight for the trophy. Even though mousesports have been dominating all their opponents so far, the three other teams can’t be counted out. Seeing a rematch of last season’s grand final between MTW and mousesports would definitely be something, especially when looking at the organizations’ histories. I hope you enjoy the show!”

League of Legends: The clash of the champions

On Sunday, we get to see the best League of Legends teams in Germany face off, and, with four of the ESL Pro Series’ recent champions in runnings, the lineup couldn’t be more stacked. Reigning champion n!faculty will face Planetkey Dynamics (Winter Champion 2013), ESC Gaming (Spring Champion 2013) and Team Alternate (Summer Champion 2012) - who will come out on top in this battle of the seasons?

  • 12:30 CEST: n!faculty vs. Team ALTERNATE
  • 15:30 CEST: ESC Gaming vs. Playing Ducks
  • 18:30 CEST: ESL Pro Series League of Legends Grand Final

Speaking about the League of Legends finals on Sunday, Jason Kaplan said:
“The EPS Germany League of Legends finals is just a few days away, with plenty of nail biting games on the horizon. We have the reigning champions from last season, n!faculty, up against the team they beat last season for first place, Team ALTERNATE (previously Tick Trick Duck). Then, of course, on the other side of the bracket we have Playing Ducks, returning from last season to come up against ex-champion ESC Gaming. There should be some great games coming your way this weekend, and if I were to predict a winner for the playoffs, I think I have to give it to n!faculty because of how one-sided their victory was in the finals last season.”

To see the matches for yourself, tune in to our dedicated channels for CS:GO on Saturday from 13:00 CEST and League of Legends on Sunday from 12:30 CEST. You can also check out ESLProSeries.de for the German streams if you’d liked to see the streams in their native language. Whatever you choose, enjoy the shows!
