It was a day of clear victories in StarCraft II at Intel Extreme Masters Taipei. The final ten group stage matchups of groups C and D all turned out to be 2-0 affairs, resulting in the bare minimum number of games being played on day three.

In the highly anticipated group C, it was Life who took control of the number one spot, with him being in full control during his 2-0 victories over both ForGG and fellow Zerg Soulkey. The latter would eventually advance to the quarterfinals in second place after crushing San in the decider game of group C. He is the second open bracket player to advance through the group stages, together with HyuN from group A.

In group D, it was PartinG who took charge and stormed through with back to back 2-0 wins in order to secure his spot in the next stage of the tournament. His play also forced Maru and Hydra into an all-deciding final group stage game where Maru came out on top. He is the only Terran to make it into the quarterfinals, with Polt and ForGG both crashing out of their respective groups.
