New teams dominate Season 2 of the North American Rainbow Six Pro League

With Season 2 of the Rainbow Six Pro League well underway, we can take a look at the North American frontrunners! Denial Esports led the way through two weeks of play on Xbox One. With a draw in Week 1 and an impressive dismantling of Team AGG in Week 2, they carried four points into Monday’s action. Orbit topped the tables on PC with six points after a pair of wins over Empire Esports and Lunatik Esports.

XBOX ONE

In the first match of the week Pick Your Poison faced off against Team AGG, with Pick Your Poison securing a 2-0 victory. PyP looked prepared from the start of Map 1 Clubhouse, as AGG lost rounds without making much progress to the bomb sites. Map 2 was Kanal, and PyP jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they took the second game 5-3.

In the second matchup of Play Day 3 on Xbox One in North America, Myth took on ReWritten in a slugfest that ended 1-1. The first map was Consulate and after a 5-0 trouncing for ReWritten, the second map didn’t look very promising for Myth. They managed to take the lead into round eight where a clutch C4 from ReWritten secured overtime. Myth managed to win the next two rounds after a successful defense and botched retake from ReWritten in round ten. Offstream, both matches ended 1-1.

Take a look at the Week 3 standings of the North American Rainbow Six Pro League on Xbox One:

PC

The first match on Thursday night was suspended after just four rounds due to suspicion of cheating from one or more parties involved in the match. An investigation has been launched and a statement forthcoming.

The second match of the day was between MilSpec Esports and Lunatik. We saw Presidential Plane for the first map of the second series and it was explosive! A small map led to some very close rounds as MiLSPEC finished with a 6-4 win after trailing 1-4! An incredible comeback on such a volatile map. MiLSPEC carried their momentum from the first map into Clubhouse and finished off Lunatik 5-1 snagging three points.

Thanks to the suspended match, we got to see the second map between Orbit and True Ambition, originally scheduled to be played offstream, played out on the main stream. The first map was Hereford Base and extremely close, but ultimately ended with a score of 6-4 in favor of Orbit. Map 2 was just as close, but Orbit repeated their 6-4 win on House. Offstream, a matchup between Trinity Esports and Empire Esports finished 1-1.
