We are sad to announce that Epsilon eSports will be missing out the Heroes of the Storm Europe Summer Regional UK in Leicester this weekend. With the event coming ever closer and Epsilon not yet having received their visa, Virtus.pro and Casual Logic Gaming - formerly known as EURONICS Gaming - were contacted in order to determine the replacing team in a decider match.
David Kugelmann, product manager at ESL, had the following to say about the replacement:
“We are very sorry to see Epsilon eSports missing out on the tournament in Leicester. With the limited time given before the event, we informed all teams to work on getting their visas right away. Sadly this didn’t work out for Epsilon, leaving us with no other choice but to find a replacement. However, with the other regionals still coming up, they’re not out of the race for the Global Summer Championship and still have a chance at making it to DreamHack Summer!”
However, Virtus.pro declined this match as they would have faced visa issues due to the short notice themselves. As such, Casual Logic Gaming will be the team replacing Epsilon eSports. While they were still playing for EURONICS Gaming during the qualification, the team managed to earn a spot in the final qualifier before being stopped by Silenced Monkeys.
Casual Logic Gaming will take over Epsilon’s spot in Group A, facing mYinsanity in the opening match on Friday the 22nd of April. This also gives them the chance to take revenge on Silenced Monkeys, who will be playing Team Liquid in their first match. Getting this opportunity to play for their share of US$100,000 as well as the safe slot at the Global Summer Championship could turn this somewhat sad story into a dark horse one!
