And with that, day three of the WCS Season 3 groups has come to a close! Today it was the turn of Group G: Chinese Protoss Jim, Polish Zerg Elazer, North American Protoss Hitman and Norwegian Zerg Snute. The ESL studios in Cologne saw these four top players fight it out for a spot at the WCS Season 3 finals in Kraków, Poland, set to run from September the 8th to the 13th, but only two could survive.
Starting off with two Zerg vs. Protoss matches, the Zerg took the upper hand quite quick. Snute managed to send Jim down by 2-0, before Elazer turned the game around and won the series versus Hitman by 2-1 after three rather quick games. While Hitman was able to win the elimination match 2-0 over Jim showing off his offensive qualities, Snute fought down Elazer and qualified for the round of 16 as the first player of Group G. The decider match saw Elazer and Hitman going head to head once again, but Hitman let his aggressive style work this time to come out on top with a 2-0 to take the second spot in the round of 16.
