After last year’s intense and exhilerating ESL One grand final matchup between Virtus.pro and Ninjas in Pyjamas, we are back for seconds.
Following our orchestration of the first ever CS:GO stadium event last year, the Spodek arena in Katowice will yet again be hosting the ESL One CS:GO Major in 2015 as part of the Intel ESL Expo in Katowice from March the 12th to the 15th.
The world’s best CS:GO teams, including both 2014 finalists, will battle it out for the community-funded US$250,000 prize pool. The top eight teams from DreamHack Winter have also all been granted a direct invite to the event as ‘legend’ teams.
The directly qualified teams are as follows:
- HellRaisers
- Ninjas in Pyjamas
- Virtus.pro
- PENTA Sports
- Team LDLC
- Fnatic
- Team Dignitas
- Natus Vincere
One of the major changes in comparison with previous events is the offline qualifier, which will be held in Katowice (February the 14th to the 15th). The remaining eight ‘challenger’ teams will be determined during these qualifiers, which will feature 16 competing teams from all over the world.
ESL’s previous CS:GO Majors have each broken attendance and viewership records. This time around, the CS:GO event will have its own separate 8000m² stage at the venue, with the finals being held on the grand stage to ensure an even bigger audience of up to 12,500 fans.
