Over the weekend, Cloud9 and Tempo Storm dominated the Invitational Qualifier and solidified their spots as the last two teams to join the second Heroes of the Storm North America Summer Regional lineup. The two teams will be joining Naventic, Brain Power, Panda Global, Gale Force eSports, Astral Authority and Team Name Change in Burbank,California to decide who will go on to represent their region at the Summer Global Championship in Jönköping, Sweden!
Cloud9 won the first Global Championship at Blizzcon in November of 2015 and competed at the Heroes Global Circuit Spring Championship in Seoul, Korea earlier in 2016. Since their first championship win, Cloud9 hasn’t seen the same amount of success. They have had a slow journey in qualifying for the North America Summer Regional, but finally made a comeback with a dominant performance in the Invitational Qualifier.

Cloud9’s recent roster swap, switching out Taylor ‘Arthelon’ Eder for Brain Power’s Ben “Cattlepillar” Bunk, proved successful as the new squad earned their Regional spot without losing a series. With their third consecutive win, Cloud9 sent Tempo Storm to the losers bracket, but will they be able to keep this momentum and make their way to the Summer Global Championship?
