Your bootcamp at the Red Bull Gaming Ground in Cologne awaits

Kicking off on Monday the 11th of August, the Red Bull Gaming Ground will bring pros and amateurs together at Cologne’s ESL TV Studios for a full week of eSports activities. From the pros preparing for gamescom to normal players learning from international star players such as mousesports’ HeroMarine (StarCraft II) or MYM (Dota 2), a lot will be going. It’s not too late for you to join the show - you might even get the chance to play some of the stars themselves!

Pro gaming bootcamp, where even the stars can learn a trick or two

On Monday and Tuesday, ESL will host a bootcamp for some of the teams participating in the tournaments at gamescom. Together with the Sport University of Cologne and Julius Brink, winner of the Olympic beach volleyball title, the teams will not only try to increase their in-game skills but also have mental, dietary and physiological coaches working together with them to ensure that they’re properly prepared for the challenges that lie ahead at gamescom.

Michael Bister, head of pro gaming Germany at ESL, said of the Red Bull Gaming Ground:

“We are very happy to offer the teams and players a lot more than just a room to practice for their upcoming matches in at our bootcamp. Together with the Sport University of Cologne, we have a full programm of practicing every aspect needed to deliver outstanding performances. I’m looking forward to seeing the players take this special chance to be in top shape for an intense and challenging week at gamescom.”

Rookie workshops and FunCraft - learn from the best

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, pro personalities from Dota 2, StarCraft II and more will help players who signed up for workshops to improve their skills in a number of eSports titles. Players such as Gabriel “HeroMarine” Segat, former German champion in StarCraft II, and top German Hearthstone player Jan “Skip” Birkemeyer will teach the assembled rookies and get them ready to give their best performances during showmatches that will take place every night at 20:00 CEST, which you can follow either on stream or live at the ESL Studios.

During the weekend, it’s open house in the ESL Studios. Interested players can come and take on the pros in Beat the Pro challenges or face other players in the visitors’ tournaments. On top of this, a public viewing of the EU LCS playoffs will be installed so nobody attending will miss any of the action from gamescom.

Join us and order your weekday tickets for only €5, which also include drinks on the house, with weekend tickets being free. See you in Cologne!
