Last night the teams of Virtus.pro, Na’Vi, Clan-Mystik and Reason took the final step towards Katowice. Now the teams left in the Lower Bracket have two more rounds to show that they belong to the best 16 teams in the world and to get the chance of being a part of EMS One Katowice. Who will complete the field in just a bit more than two weeks? Find out tonight live on ESL TV presented by Paul ‘ReDeYe’ Challoner and Jason Kaplan!
Two clear matches and two tough fights
Both Virtus.pro and Reason Gaming took their matches with a clear 2:0 over ALTERNATE and mousesports. The Germans fought hard but in the end they now need to play the Lower Bracket. For Clan-Mystik and Na’Vi the matches were far from that clear victories. While the French came back from losing de_inferno on the second overtime to 3DMAX, they still needed another overtime to claim the victory on de_dust2 and their spot at Katowice. Na’Vi had a lot of trouble with TBA, who once again showed a solid performance like in the whole qualification so far. But in the second overtime on de_train the Eastern European mix pushed them down into Lower Bracket.
Eight teams fighting for only two more spots
The Favorites to take the two spots are 3DMAX and Team TBA as they have already shown a very good performance in the whole qualification so far. But MYM and USSR know about the crowd at Katowice and how they support the Eastern European teams and will not like to pass this chance. For ALTERNATE and mousesports this is going to a tough job as they gate keepers might be 3DMAX or TBA. H2k and Wizards have had some good results so far but are the less flashy teams. Maybe they can surprise the audience tonight and gain the tickets.
