After a tough week of gameplay for the European teams in week five of the ESL Pro League, we were not left disappointed in week six even though it was only played across a couple of days. In last week’s roundup, we recommended that you specifically looked out for one series: Astralis versus Ninjas in Pyjamas. Much like our previous recommendation of Team EnVyUs versus Natus Vincere, the match proved to be very one-sided, with the Swedish lineup taking both maps without any difficulties - 16-8 on de_mirage and 16-4 on de_cache.
It’s now time to take a look at the current season standings as well as highlights from across the two days of competition - let’s get started!
Standings
At the end of week five, Astralis again led the European competition ahead of Ninjas in Pyjamas, G2 and Fnatic, who all fell into the threshold of qualification for the ESL Pro League Season 3 offline finals. This week, with the limited matches being played from the top of the leaderboard teams, there has not been a change in the teams that fit the qualifying requirements but instead a switch in the layout of the teams in the top four position. As it stands, from the European region Virtus.pro, mousesports and SK Gaming can no longer qualify for the offline finals in May.

Georgi “WorldEdit” Yaskin again features in our highlights of the week as, in their first match of the day against Fnatic, the Russian manages to pull off three quick consecutive kills to stop the fully loaded push from the world number one side.
Team of the week
With the limited week of matches, it was difficult to select which lineup would be our team of the week. That being said, we have chosen the Swedish Ninjas in Pyjamas as they almost solidify their invitation to the offline finals in more than one month.
Although the Ninjas only played - and won - one series against Astralis, they did so with ease with a 16-8 and 16-4 map win. This series win allowed the team to put their accumulative points total to 42 and top the European division.

Although week seven of the ESL Pro League will be another short week of intense action, it will still play a key role in deciding the fate of a number of teams, with first to fifth only featuring a 12-point difference. One of the key series to look out for is Team EnVyUs versus Team Dignitas as the French side look to squeeze into the top four for an invitation to the offline finals.
