In Week 7 of the GameStop Hometown Heroes: Injustice 2 circuit we stopped in Chicago to see how the competition fared out there! From the get go, it was apparent that every single fighter could go toe to toe with the other, and Chicago played the full Injustice 2 roster better than any region we’ve seen yet.
This was proven in the first match of the evening, which featured a great 3-0 comeback from Alcatraz, who switched from Cheetah to Deadpool after being unable to outzone JINXD4EV3R’s Robin.

Next up, we had a classic Atrocitus mirror match between Anbu GetReked and Mr. Hectic Gamer. The match was over after a swap to Aquaman from GetReked, who was then able to take the victory.

Despite Capt DXXM attempting a comeback with his Batman, it was Lth Rage who took the match with his Darkseid.

In what was one of our most interesting matchups of the season, we got to witness Fibonacci’s Brainiac against Friction’s Captain Cold. As fun as it would have been to see these two characters play to a game five, Fibonacci took the match 3-0.

Chicago did not stop for a moment - the battle between Fibonacci and Mr. Hectic Gamer went all the way to a game five with Mr. Hectic Gamer ultimately ending the Brainiac legacy.

At the end of the day, Alcatraz managed to use the roster to his full advantage and earn himself the title of Week 7 grand champion.
