OpTic Gaming have requested a permanent move from the North American Pro League to Europe. Their NA Pro League license will be withdrawn and they have been moved down to compete in MDL Season 29 to re-qualify for Pro League in Europe.

Background

With the acquisition of their Danish line-up OpTic Gaming have requested the Pro League administration for a permanent transition from the North American Pro League to the European division, based on the fact their players want to live and compete in Europe going forward. This means that OpTic can no longer compete in the North American division due to residency rules, next to the obvious competitive disadvantages.

Decision of the league administration

Given the permanency of OpTic Gaming’s move to Europe with their Danish line-up the league administration have decided to grant the transition. This has the following effects on Pro League and the Mountain Dew League.

1) Withdrawal of North American License

The league administration herewith withdraws OpTic Gaming their league license for the North American division of Pro League.

As a consequence of that, a new license holder for the vacant spot will be announced shortly.

2) OpTic invited to MDL Europe Season 29

Based on the fact that there are no vacant licenses in the European division of Pro League, the league administration have decided to move OpTic Gaming down to the upcoming season of the European Mountain Dew League. This provides OpTic with the opportunity to re-gain their spot in Pro League over the course of the upcoming Season 29 in the event they perform sufficiently to qualify for relegation.
