Two spots remain in the North American Call of Duty Stage 1 finals: find out what happened in week ten!

Week 10 of the North America Call of Duty World League, presented by PlayStation Pro Division saw six teams officially secure their spots in the Stage 1 Finals: OpTic Gaming, FaZe Clan, Rise Nation, Team eLevate, Team EnVyUs, and compLexity. There are only two more spots left to fill for the Stage 1 Finals, and only one more week of matches left. The fight to secure those spots is going down to the wire here in North America!

On Day 1 of the action, FaZe began things with a 3-0 win over Counter Logic Gaming. A big upset occurred in the second match, however, as Luminosity was able to take down a recently-struggling Team EnVyUs 3-1. CompLexity also struggled in their match against Team SoloMid, losing 1-3. The rest of Day 1 went by as expected, with OpTic, eLevate, and Rise winning their series against Team Kaliber, H2K, and Dream Team, respectively.

Day 2 of the week started off with two big upsets, as CLG took down EnVyUs 3-0, and TK won their series 3-1 over eLevate. FaZe was able to take down TSM in a quick 3-0 sweep in the second matchup, and Rise won their series againdt H2K 3-0. Luminosity could have secured their spot in the Finals in Day 2, but Dream Team stunned everyone as they finally won a Game 5 and completed the reverse sweep on LG, winning 3-2. To finish off the night, OpTic won their match 3-2 vs. compLexity.

As we head into the final week, it will be a battle between H2K, TSM, TK, Luminosity, and CLG to secure the 7 and 8 spots in the league. That means that three of these teams will fall to play in the relegation alongside Dream Team.

MATCH OF THE WEEK

In week 10, there’s was no specific match of the week, says Jack “CouRage” Dunlop. Because many of the matches on Wednesday were crucial to teams trying to find their way out the relegation zone, we saw a lot of insane action.

“Honestly for me this week wasn’t about one match. I want to touch on all of Wednesday’s crazy matches," CouRage said. "Coming into this week the teams on the bubble had some wins separating them. It was clear that Luminosity and TSM were in great positions to take the 7th and 8th spots but that was far from the case by the end of the matches. CLG, TSM, H2K, tK, and Luminosity all needed wins on Wednesday. CLG wound up taking down EnVy in a stunning 3-0 upset which started the day off by shocking the Call of Duty competitive fans. Then, the two teams in the best spots, Luminosity and TSM , both lost their respective matches against formidable opponents leaving tK with an opportunity to keep their hopes alive if they won vs eLevate. Well... they did just that. Neslo played his best match of the entire Stage 1 with an overall 1.39 K/D ratio across the four games. This now leaves tK, Luminosity, TSM, CG, and H2K in a fight for the final spots next week.”

MVP

The MVP of Week 10 was Attach from FaZe. CouRage stated, “With so many of the teams in limbo having average weeks, it is tough to pinpoint one player who was an MVP in the middle-of-the-pack squads, so I will give it this week to Attach. Attach throughout has been up there as one of the most consistent players in all of the CWL throughout Stage 1. This week he held an overall 1.35 K/D ratio through FaZe’s perfect 2-0 week where they didn’t drop a single map. Attach has the ability to take over a Search and Destroy game with his sniper presence, or be a sneaky beaver in CTF where he is a flag pulling king.”

One of Attach’s best plays of the week was a ninja defuse 1v2 round win in Search and Destroy.
