Having reached the halfway mark of Season 2 in the North American Rainbow Six Pro League, the competition on Xbox One is looking as close as ever. Meanwhile, at the top of the PC standings Orbit were forced to sit out this week due to the ongoing allegations of Electronic Gaming Evolution and saw their lead shrink ever-so-slightly.

The first match of the week was MYTH vs. Strictly Business. Oregon was the first map and was extremely close, with both teams able to capitalize on offense and defense. MYTH were able to eventually take it home in overtime with a score of 6-4. The second map was Kanal. Even closer than the last, Strictly Business snatched the last round of overtime to secure the 6-5 win and tie the series 1-1.

The other on-stream Xbox One match of the week was between Pick Your Poison and Excellence. Excellence took Clubhouse 5-2 after jumping out to an early lead. It was clear from the beginning that Pick Your Poison were not quite on the same tactical level as their opposition. This became even more evident after Excellence were able to execute well on offense in map two. Excellence picked up the win 5-3, earning all three points. Offstream Elevate tied 1-1 with Team AGG and Denial Esports picked up a 2-0 win over Rewritten.

Our first PC match this week pitted MiLSPEC Esports against Empire Esports. Kanal was the first map of the series and went in favor of Empire despite an early lead for MiLSPEC. Empire rode this momentum from the first map into Chalet where they finished quickly with a 2-0 after just seven rounds. MiLSPEC’s stellar performance from Week 3 was quickly undone by Empire who picked up their first win of Season 2.

The last match of Week 4 saw VexX Gaming take the win over True Ambition. VexX won a nail-biter on Chalet as it went to round 1. True Ambition failed to plant the diffuser after a timeout, and VexX came out on top. It was back and forth all the way through the game with a heavy advantage falling on the defenders. Kanal was not quite as close. VexX took won 5-2 as True Ambition looked out of practice on one of the most common maps in the pool. VexX secured the three points and sit comfortably in second place behind Orbit.
Off stream Trinity Esports tied Lunatik Esports 1-1.
