For four teams, the journey to the Guild Wars 2 Pro League Season 2 Finals has come to an end. All the teams have been playing incredibly throughout the season, but ultimately only two teams from each region will have the chance to fight for the championship title in front of a live studio audience at the ESL Studios in Burbank, California this June. Let’s recap Week 7 to see who made it through!
MATCH DAY 7 EU |
Orange Logo 2 - 1 Super Smash |
More Guns Than Roses 0 - 2 The Civilized Gentlemen |
Rank Fifty Five Dragons 2 - 0 Vermilion |
Car Crashed 0 - 2 Purple Noise |
The top European spots have been in constant flux and these last battles were closely matched with a lot on the line. Returning champions Rank Fifty Five Dragons locked in their number one spot with a 2-0 sweep against Vermillion, who could not replicate their Season 1 success.

The Civilized Gentlemen also took their Week 7 match 2-0 and will be joining Rank Fifty Five Dragons in Burbank for the Season 2 Finals!
Keep in mind that the total prize pool for Season 2 of the Guild Wars 2 Pro League is US$200,000! Although the top four teams will be fighting for the Finals prize pool of US$100,000, each region will receive an additional US$50,000 prize pool to be shared across the top eight teams based on Week 7 standings. Here are the final standings for the European teams:
MATCH DAY 7 NA |
Gems N Tonic 2 - 1 eDream |
Ez Pz Lemon Squeezy 2 - 0 Never Lucky |
Final Form 2 - 0 Spoookie |
Astral Authority 1 - 2 Team PZ |
Contrary to the closely-matched European teams, the North American frontrunners made themselves known from Week 1. The North American finalists were officially locked in last week, but Week 7 determined their ever-important seeding.
Astral Authority and Team PZ have been neck in neck throughout the Pro League, but undefeated Team PZ were able to take this final win and secure the #1 seed. Astral Authority were kicked out of the top spot and will now face Rank Fifty Five Dragons in their first match of the Season 2 Finals. Astral Authority fell to Rank Fifty Five Dragons in the deciding match for the Season 1 championship title and will have to start off by taking down the returning champions for any chance at taking home the Season 2 crown.
Down goes @AstralAuthority! @Team_PZ take 1st place and remain undefeated! #GW2PLhttps://t.co/L1u08lyZJe
