This November, the Lucca Comics & Games Convention is going to host the StarCraft: Remastered Italian Esports Open 2017, a $16,000 StarCraft: Remastered tournament with some of the best players from from past and present. The Lucca Esports Cathedral has hosted numerous gaming events in the past and will serve as a magnificent stage for the group stage and playoffs from November 1-2.
Eight players are set to participate at the main event - five directly invited representing Italy, Europe, the United States and South Korea with the remaining three slots up for grabs through open qualifiers for Italian and European players.

All players participating in the offline finals will have their travel and hotel expenses fully paid for.
Qualifiers
Any players in Italy and Europe that feel up to the challenge can participate in their respective open qualifiers, which will stretch over four weeks to determine the final three contestants. Players from Italy are allowed to play only in the Italian qualifiers, while the European qualifiers will be reserved only to players from the rest of Europe. Points will be earned in every open qualifier competition until the final standings show us who will travel to Lucca.
The open qualifiers are starting this weekend on September 17th and will take place every weekend until October 15th.

A $16,000 prize pool awaits those that make it to the offline finals, with the distribution to be managed as follows:
- 1st place - $5,000
- 2nd place - $3,250
- 3rd place - $2,250
- 4th place - $1,500
- 5th-8th place - $1,000
