In September, Dubai will welcome CS:GO back to its shores in the form of the ESL ESEA Pro League Invitational. The tournament will be a part of GAMES 15, the Middle East’s premier gaming event. Originally planned as a six-team invitational, the event will now be expanding to eight teams, with Team SoloMid and Team Titan joining Fnatic, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Natus Vincere, Virtus.pro, Team EnVyUs and Cloud9 in Dubai to battle it out for their share of the US$250,000 prize pool.
Team SoloMid
TSM are one of the best-performing European teams, winning at DreamHack Valencia and making it to the ESL One Cologne 2015 playoffs by breezing through their group stage. In Cologne, they delivered a dominating performance in the quarterfinals against Team Kinguin, winning the matchup 2-0. In the semifinal, they faced Team EnVyUs which resulted in another thrilling battle. In the end, however, it was the French team who took the series 1-2 and advanced to the final. Now, TSM are heading to Dubai to kick off season two of the ESL ESEA Pro League. In the first season they secured the third spot in the league - how will they do this time?
Team Titan
Titan’s road to ESL One Cologne was longer and tougher than TSM’s, and unfortunately ended in the group stage. They started off by emerging victorious from the European qualifier, although it was through the losers’ bracket after their loss to Team eBettle. In the ESL One Cologne group stage they faced Natus Vincere and Renegades, losing both of the matchups and thus ending their journey to the finals at the LANXESS Arena. Titan ended in the nineth spot in season one of the ESL ESEA Pro League, but the Dubai Invitational will be a chance for them to prove that they are capable of defeating some of the world’s very top teams.
