Team Secret will be making their third consecutive ESL One appearance during New York Super Week and are looking to repeat their stellar performance at ESL One Frankfurt 2015, where they were able to lift the trophy for the first time. However, in the wake of a disappointing TI5 run, it’s a new chapter in Team Secret’s history. Can Secret return to their winning ways in New York?
For their third ESL One appearance, they will again be fielding a significantly altered lineup. After acquiring Arteezy and Zai earlier in the year, the duo returned to Evil Geniuses after The International 5. With s4 and KuroKy also choosing to part ways with the team, this left only Puppey as the last man standing. The Estonian has since then surrounded himself with a talented new squad consisting of multiple ex-Cloud9 players and Romanian pub star w33, who will take the reins in midlane following s4’s departure.
After an equally frustrating performance at TI5 with Cloud9, EternalEnvy and MiSeRy joined up with Puppey as the team’s new carry and offlane players respectively. EternalEnvy’s former Cloud9 teammate pieliedie completes the new Team Secret roster as the position five support, so we can expect to see even more Bounty Hunter picks in the future. With Puppey and pieliedie sharing the support duties, MiSeRy will be taking his talents to the offlane. While this may come as a surprise to some fans, the Dane is very well known for his versatility, having played multiple roles over the course of his long Dota 2 career.

Matchups against other attendees
Even though Team Secret were widely regarded as the strongest team ahead of The International 5, their performances against the other ESL One at New York Super Week attendees throughout the 6.84 patch show that there are no clear-cut favorites in the Dota 2 scene any more. With so many teams playing at the highest level, no team is safe!
