After yesterday’s exciting Asian qualifier group matches, the time has come to determine which two teams will earn a slot as Challengers at ESL One Cologne. Favorites Immunity and Australia’s Renegades secured their spots in the playoffs yesterday, with today beginning with the group decider matches to see who will join them in the playoffs. All of the teams gave it their best, but in the end it was the Australian squads who emerged victorious and will travel to Germany for ESL One Cologne.
Group deciders
In group A, the battle for the playoffs spot came down to Skyred and myRevenge. The fight was fierce, but eventually it was the Koreans from myRevenge to take a 16-14 victory over Skyred and move onto the semifinals to face Renegades.
Group B had the local team, MVP.Karnal, face the Chinese team, QeeYou. The Malaysians left little room for doubt, taking the match 16-5 and advancing to the playoffs where Immunity was waiting for them.

Playoffs
The first semifinal took place between Renegades and myRevenge. Although the Australians came into the matchup as favorites, it was myRevenge who dominated in the first match on Cache. Renegades had to catch up, and in the end it led to overtime which saw the match end 19-16 for the Aussies. In the second match, Inferno, Renegades dominated from the beginning and secured their slot at ESL One Cologne in a convincing 16-2 fashion.
The second and final matchup came down to Immunity and MVP.Karnal. Just as in the first semifinal, the Australian team was seen as the favorite. However, MVP.Karnal did have the home advantage. The first match took place on Mirage. The fight was tight and the score even throughout most of the game, but in the end it was Immunity who took the map 16-13. The second map was Cobblestone, on which Immunity proved their dominance and secured the second slot at ESL One Cologne.

The Australian teams came into the qualifier as favorites but the other teams gave them a run for their money. Immunity and Renegades are the first Challengers who will face the Legends at ESL One Cologne in Germany - be sure to follow the European and American qualifiers to see which teams will join them!
