LCS Europe is officially SUPA HOT

Almost one month after the promotion stage, LCS Europe gets a new member. Yesterday on January 11th, Riot Games had scheduled a replacement Play-In to fill the gap Lemondogs left after being disqualified from the LCS for failure to submit satisfactory paperwork to Riot.

Just as quick as the LCS journey of Lemondogs started last Summer, so quick and abrupt did the story find its end. Seven months ago, the Swedish organisation acquired Sinners Never Sleep, a young team freshly qualified for Europe's Summer Season. They took LCS by storm, finishing the regular season on top, losing only to Fnatic at the Summer Playoffs and a more than decent 9/10th place at the World Championship.
A couple of weeks after returning from Los Angeles the team suffered a big setback, only the first one of more yet to come. The entire team left the European runner-up, most of them joining Ninjas in Pyjamas although NiP still had to defend their LCS spot in the upcoming Promotion. The same day Lemondogs' new lineup had their first official appearance at the Battle of the Atlantic, NiP surprisingly lost to Kiedyś Miałem Team and therefore the right to play in the LCS.

It was then when rumors started spreading Ninjas in Pyjamas would attempt to buy their way back into LCS by taking the spot from Lemondogs. The attempted buyout was confirmed by NiP Senior Manager Gustav M. 'flabbert' Karto and led ultimately to the removal of Lemondogs after a new policy by Riot put a stop to the projected takeover. While this was the end for Lemondogs' chance to play in LCS Spring Season 2014, Ninjas in Pyjamas received one more. All three losers of the Spring Promotion had been invited to meet in a Round Robin, but NiP got disqualified for not being able to field a full lineup. So it came to MYM meeting SUPA HOT CREW XD for the eighth LCS spot. Once month ago SPH was only one map away from LCS, when SK Gaming lost the Best of Five's first two maps before starting an amazing comeback. This time however, two maps were all that is needed: SUPA HOW CREW XD won and is going to make their first LCS appearance already on this very Tuesday, when LCS Europe starts into the regular season.

SPH's new home for the coming months.
