Before Intel Extreme Masters San Jose kicked off last weekend, we announced that ESL and Newegg would be joining forces in order to increase the prize money competitors can win at the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship in Katowice. By purchasing items in a Newegg sale that began on the 4th of December and will continue to run until after the conclusion of Intel Extreme Masters Cologne, the community continues to bolster the total prize pool for the all-important event next year.

As such, we’re excited to announce that, thanks to community support during Intel Extreme Masters San Jose, we managed to reach an amazing $20,000 increase to the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship prize pool and counting so far!

Intel Extreme Masters Cologne is set to kick off on the 18th of December and run until the 21st, while the World Championship will be held in Katowice from the 12th to the 15th of March 2015 - be sure to tune in to both of these for some great League of Legends and StarCraft II action!
