On December 6th, all eyes will be on the SAP Center in San Jose as the Intel Extreme Masters will once more deliver top notch League of Legends and Starcraft II action. With some of the world’s best players competing for glory, a trophy and of course prize money, the event is set to once again move esports further into the mainstream.

The League of Legends teams
Headlining the event with be winners of the most recent North American and European LCS seasons, Team SoloMid and Alliance, respectively. They were invited to compete and were placed directly in the semi-finals.
Joining them will be two more LCS teams (one North American and one European), who will be selected by via a fan vote on the Intel Extreme Masters website, where voting will open on October 29th. In addition to this, two South American teams, one Brazilian and one Latin American, will also be taking part, with online qualifiers deciding which of the region’s teams travel to San Jose to compete.

Once decided, these teams will all gather at the SAP Center in San Jose to compete for the Intel Extreme Masters trophy and their share of the impressive US$50,000 prize pool.

The Starcraft II Players
San Jose, in Intel Extreme Masters tradition will once again feature some of the world’s best Starcraft II players, with 8 qualified players as well as 4 wildcards and an open bracket. After exciting European, Asian and North American qualifiers several top tier players such as CJ herO, Polt, ForGG, Vortix and Rain have already punched their tickets and will definitely compete in the SAP Arena.
