The GameStop Hometown Heroes league kicks off just weeks after the May 16 launch of Injustice 2! The competition will be played online and at select US GameStop locations to eventually crown a North American champion.
The GameStop Hometown Heroes: Injustice 2 circuit will consist of bi-weekly double-elimination matches, with non-broadcasted online play kicking off June 4. Competitors from all regions will battle online each week, with the Top 8 matches from a select location broadcast live every Wednesday at 5PM Pacific on the NetherRealm Twitch channel. Viewers can also watch GameStop Hometown Heroes live on the ESL YouTube channel or ESL Injustice Facebook page.
After ten weeks of online play, the competition will lead into the Regional Finals on August 12. The top four players from each of the eight US regions will travel to a local GameStop store and fight for the regional championships, with everything leading up to the Injustice 2 GameStop Hometown Heroes Finals at the 2017 GameStop Consumer Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada, on August 27.
