ESL and ESEA expand the esports experience on Facebook

With 1.94 billion monthly active users, Facebook is the world’s largest community network and ESL is excited to be vastly increasing the amount of content it will be streaming on the platform in 2017. Esports fans will be able to watch all IEM and ESL One events in up to six different languages on ESL Facebook pages as well as multiple National Championships and online leagues. We will also continue to stream exclusive backstage content from ESL’s stadium events on FB live where fans have the chance to interact with their favorite players and casters via live AMAs.

Additionally we are excited to be launching a completely new and exclusive weekly stream focused on ESEA Rank S, in which viewers will be able to follow the highest level of EU and NA ladder play in a show that mixes commentating with team audio. It is our first shared initiative with Facebook aimed at growing the community on the platform and highlighting up and coming players.

Johannes Schiefer, VP of Social Media at ESL said of the partnership:
“This is a huge step toward expanding the reach of esports among mainstream audiences. Last year, ESL content generated over 2 billion impressions and reached over 200 million users on Facebook globally. Now, with the addition of live streaming for all major ESL events, as well as exclusive content around CS:GO and ESEA, we are excited to expand our reach to more audiences and build strong local communities by providing them with content they care about.”

In addition to the 30 hours of weekly Rank S streaming, there will be a weekly half an hour show hosted by Mark “Boq” Wilson focused on Rank S and the current happenings in ESEA & CS:GO.
You can find the ESEA announcement right here.

Patrick Chapman, Gaming and Esports Partnerships at Facebook, is excited by the new range of esports content.
“Rank S is defined by the world’s best CS:GO gameplay and it’s fueled by a knowledgeable, passionate fan base that craves great live matches, news and analysis. Delivering original video content to this audience ties directly to Facebook’s commitment to build the world’s community for people to play, watch and share games they love.”

Don’t miss out on the start of the ESEA Rank S broadcast at the beginning of June, 2017! You’ll be able to find all the new content live on ESEA’s Facebook page and within their official ESEA Facebook group. ESL content will be streamed on the ESL’s main game and country pages such as: ESL, IEM, ESLCS, ESLDota2, ESL Poland, ESL France, ESL Brazil, ESL Germany and ESL Spain.
