The time has come for the ESL One Cologne playoffs to kick off at LANXESS Arena. The two day long group stage determined the eight teams who clashed on the ESL One stage in a battle for the semifinals of the biggest Valve major yet. As a result, we now have four of the world’s very best CS:GO teams fighting today for the ESL One championship and their share of the US$250,000 prize pool.
The format of the playoffs is a single elimination best-of-three and despite all teams giving their best, none of the matchups lasted until game three. It was Team EnVyUs, Team SoloMid, Virtus.pro and Fnatic who swept their opponents without dropping a match and who will have a face-off in today’s semifinals.
