EU and NA teams move toward semifinals after Day 1 of the Call of Duty World League Stage 2 Finals

Day 1 of the Call of Duty World League, presented by PlayStation 4, Stage 2 Finals is complete. Four quarterfinal matches were played in total and two teams from both Europe and North America moved on to their region's semifinals. EUROPE

Splyce vs. Supremacy:

The first European quarterfinals matchup was #3 seed Splyce up against the sixth seed Supremacy. Splyce were the favorites going into this match, and they dominated to take the series 4-0, even winning the final CTF match 6-0. Supremacy were just unable to match up to the powerhouse of the Splyce team. With this win, Splyce move on to play Team Infused in the semifinals.

Epsilon vs. Millenium:

The next European quarterfinals was a closely matched series between fourth and fifth seeds Epsilon eSports and Millenium. These teams were tied in the standings after the regular season of Stage 2. The series started off strong for Epsilon, as they made a big comeback to win Hardpoint Game 1 205-223. Epsilon went on to win S&D, and held a 2-1 series lead.

Millenium were able to tie things up 2-2 with a CTF 1-0 win and the match continued all the way to a Game 6 Uplink, where Millenium won it 11-0 and took the series 4-2. Millenium will play #1 seed Hypergames in the semifinals.

EU BRACKET

The Call of Duty World League EU Stage 2 Finals action continues on Saturday, July 16 starting at 10AM PDT/1PM EDT with the semifinal matchups.

NORTH AMERICA

Team EnVyUs vs. H2K:

North American Stage 2 frontrunners Team EnVyUs faced off against eighth seed H2K in the first quarterfinal matchup. The series started off heavily in EnVyUs’ favor, as they won Hardpoint Game 1 250-127. EnVyUs’ dominance continued into Game 2 Uplink and Search and Destroy.

The series ended in Capture the Flag with EnVyUs taking it 5-1 and closing out the series 4-0. EnVyUs advanced to the semifinals where they will play the winner of Rise Nation vs. Cloud9.

OpTic Gaming vs. Luminosity:

The second North American quarterfinal match was second seed OpTic Gaming vs. #7 seed Luminosity. OpTic started off strong in Game 1 Hardpoint, with a 250-125 win. Game 2 Uplink was a thrilling match to watch. LG started off strong with a lead, but OpTic made the comeback in the final seconds to win 11-10.

LG showed their strength in S&D, winning it 6-3, but OpTic fired right back to take CTF 4-0. The series went all the way to a final Game 7, where LG were able to win it and take the series 4-3 in a major upset, eliminating Stage 1 Champions OpTic from the tournament!

Luminosity move on to play the winner of FaZe vs. Dream Team in the semifinals. 

NA BRACKET

The Call of Duty World League NA Stage 2 Finals action continues today on Friday, July 15 with the final two quarterfinal matches starting at 10AM PDT/1PM EDT.
