Last Saturday and Sunday, ESL Meisterschaft was looking for the best players and teams in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, StarCraft II as well as FIFA 16 in the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord in Germany. While the weather was providing the perfect environment for the open air event, the matches had even more to offer for both fans of dominant displays as well as Cinderella stories unfolding on the biggest German stage.

While on Sunday, the favorites ruled supreme in League of Legends and StarCraft II, with both EURONICS Gaming and Gabriel “HeroMarine” Segat adding one more title to their collections, it was on Saturday that the championships in FIFA and CS:GO had the underdogs claim the throne. In FIFA 16 it was MoAubameyang going all the way, playing in his very first season in ESL Meisterschaft after coming through the open qualifiers to grab the trophy. In CS:GO, LeiSuRe were able to take down highly favored FAB Games eSport as well as ALTERNATE aTTaX en route to their title.
