From coast to coast, Cybertron PCs have been used in every aspect of both online and offline ESL productions in North America. Upwards of 60 computers are used to bring each live show to life and many more are needed to conduct the various online tournaments happening around the clock. Here’s a behind the scenes look at the machines that power ESL America.
“Even before esports reaching its current mainstream status, CybertronPC has been a proud sponsor of ESL, providing high end gaming PCs for their gaming tournaments and PC production needs", said Ahmed Abdelaziz, CEO and Co-Founder of CybertronPC. "We are committed to gaming culture, and want professional players and enthusiast gamers alike to not worry about hardware, and to concentrate on the game itself. Esports has quickly become such an integral cornerstone of PC gaming, and our partnership with ESL has given us a great way to engage with our audience."
ON STAGE
Whether in the warm-up area or on the main stage, players need reliable equipment to guarantee fair and high-quality professional play. The compact size of the Cybertron units also makes it easier for on-site league operators and administrators to quickly switch out and transport computers during live events, while powerful specs allow for all-around use, ensuring quality broadcasts for everything from Hearthstone to more CPU-intensive games like Guild Wars 2.
OBSERVERS
Backstage, observers work diligently to bring you the best action possible, conducting drafts, communicating information to players, and acting as the eyes for the audience by following the live gameplay from their dedicated station.
PRODUCTION
Replay operators, CG integrators, and audio engineers are just a small part of the production team creating ESL’s live streams behind the curtains where PCs are set up as servers, to provide communication between players and coaches, and to ensure that administrators and observers have all the information and equipment that they need.
POWERING PLAY
While ESL America runs many offline mega-events such as Intel Extreme Masters, ESL One, and various Pro League finals, the hype and grandeur of massive live tournaments are not the only reasons to love competitive gaming. Cybertron PCs also power opportunities for amateur North American gamers to connect and compete online through qualifiers, Go4’s, and open cups for over 10 active titles on ESL Play.
For every online tournament, ESL’s admins are hard at work, checking in players, determining seeding, moderating matches, answering players’ questions, checking and submitting results to advance players and teams through brackets, and much more.
COMING UP
Look for Cybertron PCs on-stream or in person at upcoming ESL America events such as the ESL CS:GO Pro League and ESL King of the Hill and be sure to check out their new CLX line of gaming desktops and notebooks.
