At gamescom 2016 this year, we had the chance to check out a number of awesome new releases, including the next edition of the KING OF FIGHTERS series - KING OF FIGHTERS XIV. Our ESL caster duo of Ketchup and Mustard were joined by none other than fighting game legend Ryan “Prodigal Son” Hart, as they tested the newest release of the franchise.

We followed the trio around the gamescom 2016 convention floor, most notably the Deep Silver booth and got their thoughts on the gameplay and difficulty, as well as their expectations for the future of the franchise.

Prodigal Son is expecting the game to be a hit with both the community as well as new players.
“I think the fighting game community will respond pleasantly to THE KING OF FIGHTERS XIV. It’s something really new now. The visuals. It’s got a lot of extra new features and it’s actually got something that allows new players to get involved easily whereas before there was a quite high level entry barrier.
