Following the exciting conclusion of the ESL Mortal Kombat X Pro League Season 2 Finals, with SonicFox taking the belt for the second year running, we are pleased to announce that the tournament will be returning for Season 3 along with some exciting changes!
The ESL MKX Pro League will run across the CIS, European, North American, and for the first time, Latin American regions. The season matches will culminate in the greatest 16 players from across the world traveling to the ESL studios in Burbank, California to compete in the Global Season 3 Finals for US$200,000 - twice the amount awarded in Season 2.
But that’s not the only change! Season 3 introduces more ways to compete and more ways to win, as well as a total season prize pool of US$500,000.
CHALLENGER CUP
The ESL Mortal Kombat X Challenger Cup is open to everyone, excluding each week's top eight Pro League players, and kicks off Saturday, April 2,offering an all new way for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers to battle online for cash and prizes. The Challenger Cup will have open tournaments across North America, Europe, CIS, and Latin America and will be held weekly through the end of June, with monthly finals to be streamed live. Additionally, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and NetherRealm Studios will continue to support local tournaments across North America and Europe with sponsorships and contributions to prize pool funding.
