In Week 4 of GameStop Hometown Heroes: Injustice 2 we got to see what the competitors in San Francisco had in store for us. The outcomes from these matches were not easy to predict, as some of the best players in the scene came forward to play. As if the showcase of talent wasn’t enough, we were also lucky enough to see a few characters who have yet to be played on broadcast, used by competitors who were able to use them expertly.
The first match of the night set the tone for the rest of the games, and started things off with a bang. Taking it all the way to a game five, Crusty showed us our first Harley Quinn of the season, and used it to send Basic’s Aquaman down to the losers bracket.

Although it seemed like Dab’s Aquaman was going to take the victory with no questions asked, Kurokiba’s Atrocitus held his own and pushed back. However, it wasn’t enough, and Dab stepped up to the plate to take the match in the end.

Wound Cowboy gave us perhaps the most impressive round we’ve seen this season. He scored a PERFECT against Basics, managing to defeat his opponent without losing an ounce of life.

The reign of Harley continued, as Crusty took down Dab and advanced to the grand finals.

The grand finals consisted of two lesser played characters, and as impressive as Crusty had proved to be through the entire tournament, Wound Cowboy’s Dr. Fate was a master of the zoning game. He came to grand finals all the way from losers, and took the title of our San Francisco champion after resetting the bracket.
