The stellar Danish squad will try to extend their dominance over the CS:GO scene to the Cathedral of Counter-Strike.
Currently sitting in a commanding 1st place in the ESL CS:GO World Ranking, Astralis seem untouchable. Save for their first two appearances of 2018, they placed in the top four of every LAN event they participated in, with wins at the London FaceIt Major, IEM Chicago and the ESL Pro League CS:GO Seasons 7 and 8 Finals along the way. This last achievement also helped them clinch the $1,000,000 Intel Grand Slam.
Despite their resounding success, victory at ESL One Cologne eluded them after falling in the 2018 semifinals to eventual winners Natus Vincere. You’d be hard-pressed to bet against the only team that managed to put all five of its players in the Top 20 players of 2018 rank organized by highly-respected CS:GO specialist publication HLTV.org. Nicolai “device” Reedtz, who currently holds the record for most MVP awards at top-tier LAN events, will be key to their assault of the Cathedral.
Expect great things from this roster, rounded out by heavy-hitters Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen, Emil "Magisk" Reif, Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander and Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth.
