Will LGD Gaming make China proud at Intel Extreme Masters San Jose?

Last month, LGD Gaming was voted in as the sixth and final Intel Extreme Masters San Jose League of Legends team with an incredible 50% of the fan vote. Now, with the main event only a few days away, LGD will soon be representing the entirety of the Chinese League of Legends scene at the SAP Center - do they have what it takes to win the trophy?

Vengeance and passion

LGD Gaming have a reputation for being something of a powerhouse - but their performance isn’t the most predictable. This year alone they came sixth in the LPL Spring Split, second in the LPL Spring Playoffs and fifth in the LPL Summer Split. A 3-2 victory against Qiao Gu in the LPL Summer Playoffs finally earned them a much-deserved first place finish as well as qualification to the 2015 League of Legends World Championship. However, despite being one of the favorites to win, the team never made it out of the group stages, finishing third behind KT Rolster and Origen in Group D.

Intel Extreme Masters San Jose will not only give LGD an opportunity to exact revenge on Origen but also a chance to prove themselves on the international scene. There’s also a few big names on the roster to back them up, including top Korean ADC Seung-bin "Imp" Gu and Ho-jong "Flame" Lee, who won the Intel Extreme Masters Season VII World Championship during his time with CJ Entus Blaze. However, will all this be enough to see LGD Gaming take the title?

A roster on the rise?
