The first four groups of the Premier League round of 32 battled it out at the ESL studios in Burbank, California last weekend, with two players from each group qualifying for the next stage of the WCS. Polt and Petraeus (Group A), Hydra and elfi (Group B), Jaedong and Sen (Group C), MarineLorD and iaguz (Group D) will all be moving on to the round of 16 phase.
With the StarCraft II competition firmly underway, we’re excited to be able to reveal some details about the WCS Season 3 finals, which will be taking place from September the 8th to the 13th. Read on to find out where and when the action will happen as well as how you can your hands on tickets for the main event!
Location
The quarter, semi and grand finals of the WCS Season 3 will be taking place at the historic Stara Zajezdnia (Old Depot) in Kraków, Poland. The beautiful former tram depot was established in 1913, and now houses the Museum of Urban Engineering in addition to a restaurant, microbrewery, and event venue.
Schedule
From September the 8th to the 10th, the group stage action will be taking place at the ESL studios in Katowice, Poland, with the quarter, semi and grand finals to play out at the Stara Zajezdnia in Kraków on September the 12th and 13th.
The schedule for the WCS Season 3 finals is as follows:
- Tuesday, September 8th, 18:00 CEST: Group A (matches one, two and winners match) and Group B (matches one, two and the winners match)
- Wednesday, September 9th, 18:00 CEST: Group C (matches one, two and winners match) and Group D (matches one, two and the winners match)
- Thursday, September 10th, 16:00 CEST: Groups A, B, C and D (losers and deciding matches)
- Saturday, September 12th, 15:00 CEST: Quarterfinals
- Sunday, September 13th, 15:00 CEST: Semifinals and grand finals
Tickets
Entry to the main event is free, but if you want to skip the queue and be sure of getting into the venue then you can secure an early entry pass via Eventbrite. In addition to the first come, first serve indoor seating, there will also be an overflow area outside complete with a large viewing screen so everyone can still see the event. All attendees will also receive access to the Legacy of the Void beta as well as a Gosu trophy in-game portrait for StarCraft II.
