Day three of the ESL ESEA Pro League season finals has determined two grand finalists who will battle it out for the championship later today. We saw two decider matches and two semifinals, all four displaying top-notch CS:GO skills and great plays. Two North American teams were left in the running, fighting for a slot in the semifinals in the decider matches. In the end, however, Europe proved once again to be the dominating region as we will have an all-European finals with Fnatic facing off Natus Vincere.
Team Liquid and Luminosity Gaming were the only North American teams left in the running and had tough opponents waiting for them in the decider matches. Team Liquid started out solid versus Fnatic, taking the first half of the first map 10-5. In the end, the reigning Pro League champions managed to come out on top taking both matches. Luminosity Gaming forced all three maps versus Natus Vincere, giving the North American scene more one gleam of hope. The hope was crushed by Na’Vi on Mirage, the third map, as they took down Luminosity with a decisive 16-6 score.
It was all-European semifinals with the region’s best teams facing each other: ? took on Fnatic and Team EnVyUs faced Natus Vincere. Both matchups ended after two maps, although EnVy and Na’Vi delivered quite a few emotions taking their second map to overtime. The final victory went to Natus Vincere as they took down reigning major champions 2-0.
