As the longest running multi-game tournament in the region, the ESL Southeast Europe Championship (ESL SEC) is coming back with Season VIII and bringing with it some exciting changes. Across three competitions - CS:GO, LoL & Hearthstone - the prize pool is growing bigger and offline finals await the final teams in CS:GO!
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
For Season VIII, the CS:GO prize pool has doubled from 5.000€ last year to a staggering 10.000€! Two open qualifier teams will have the chance to compete in the main event group stage against six invited teams for a spot in the eventual offline finals. Said regional open qualifiers will be divided into five regions (Romanian, Bulgarian, Greek, Hungarian, Adriatic) and each region’s best teams will duke it out in the open qualifier finals.
On top of that, this season’s champions will qualify for a yet to-be-announced 50.000€ tournament which will take place the day after the CS:GO SEC finals!

League of Legends
Open Qualifier madness! With only last season’s champions WiLD having a confirmed spot at the main event, all other seven spots are up for grabs via open qualifiers. And with 5.000€ on the line the competition will be fierce in each regional open qualifier.

Last season brought the upsets to the Hearthstone stage and we could see more of the same this time around. Nobody is safe as every spot has to be fought for in the open qualifiers. Equal chances for every region as contenders eye up the 2.000€ prize pool.
