Last weekend, the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada hosted the 2015 American Championship in Heroes of the Storm, with eight teams traveling to Las Vegas to battle it out for their share of a US$100,000 prize pool and one of two available slots in the world championship at BlizzCon. In the end, it was Cloud9 who claimed the American championship title and grabbed a ticket to the BlizzCon finals. Following them to Anaheim will be Tempo Storm, who secured themselves second place.
The format
The tournament consisted of two parts: the group stage and the playoffs. The group stage was a dual tournament where all matches were best of three. The top two teams from each group advanced to the playoffs, which were all single-elimination best of three except for the grand final, which was a best of five.

The World Championship approaches!
