A few top teams made roster changes that could shake up the action in Stage 2. New teams will also be joining the Pro Division, so be sure to tune in on Wednesday April 19 and see how all of these changes come into play!
EnVyUs added on Johnathon "John" Perez from Luminosity and Bryan "Apathy" Zhelyazkov from Team Liquid alongside Jordan “Jkap” Kaplan and Austin “Slasher” Liddicoat. While EnVyUs started off Stage 1 with a strong performance, their team chemistry started to fall apart, which showed when they were unable to get past the quarterfinals in the Stage 1 Finals, losing to Team eLevate 2-4. This roster change may help revitalize them for Stage 2.
Complexity also switched up their team, picking up Team Kaliber’s Goonjar in place of Chris “Parasite” Duarte for Stage 2. Complexity struggled in Stage 1, ending with a 6-match losing streak. At the Stage 1 Finals, compLexity were unable to pick up the pieces as FaZe shut them out 0-4.
As the weeks unfold, it will be exciting to see if the two incoming new teams will be able to hang with the rest of the Pro Division teams. Both King Papey and Cloud9 entered the league following a Stage 1 Relegation win over Team Kaliber and CLG, respectivel, putting them in the Pro Divsion. Speaking of King Papey, it was just announced today that Nadeshot has formed his own esports organization named 100 Thieves, and they will have acquired King Papey. How will the newcomers do in Stage 2 of the Pro Division? We'll find out soon.
Check out the top moments from the Stage 1 Finals and get hyped for what is sure to be a phenomenal Stage 2!
