Astralis have dominated Intel Extreme Masters Beijing, winning every map they have played and with a level of dominance rarely ever seen in Counter-Strike. In this context, it is surprising to see how many months it took them to get on the Intel Grand Slam scoreboard.
The Danes beat Vici Gaming and 100 Thieves (previously Renegades) in the group stage, absolutely obliterated FaZe Clan in the semis (16-0 on Dust 2 and 16-2 on Nuke) and beat 100 Thieves 3-0 in the final as well (16-14 Vertigo, 16-5 Nuke, 16-3 Train).
In the playoffs they played five maps and only gave up 24 rounds which is only enough to lose one map of Counter-Strike.
Astralis now have nine more tournaments to complete the Intel Grand Slam in one of the two ways: win six ESL Pro Tour Masters tournaments or win four ESL Pro Tour Masters tournaments including at least one Championship.
With Liquid, EG and Fnatic also on the books with a Masters trophy each, the race looks as exciting as ever.
