ESL is happy to announce that the Hearthstone Legendary Series is returning to Katowice with a US$10,000 tournament. Taking place during the Intel Extreme Masters World Championship in partnership with Intel and HP, the ESL Legendary Series will feature eight top players battling it out in front of the passionate Katowice crowd for glory and their share of the prize pool. Thanks to the full support by the game’s developer Blizzard, the ESL Hearthstone Legendary Series Katowice 2016 will be a fully fledged major as part of the Hearthstone Championship Tour.

There will be several online qualifiers preceding the tournament in Katowice, which will give players the chance to compete among the best of the best. These are as follows:

• One North and South American qualifier with two qualifier spots
• Two European qualifiers (including the CIS region) with six qualifier spots

The qualifiers begin on February 8th and conclude on February 12th . They will determine the eight players that will travel to Katowice for the offline Finals. You can already sign up to the qualifiers below:

• February 8th/9th - EU qualifier #1 - three qualifier slots
• February 11th/12th - EU qualifier #2 - three qualifier slots
• February 9th/10th - NA qualifier - two qualifier slots

On top of the US$10,000 prize pool, there will be a share of 2016 Hearthstone Championship Tour points up for grabs. 43 HCT point in total will be distributed amongst the contestants based on their performance, with the eventual winner receiving 15 points. These points are needed for the players in their quest to qualify for the Hearthstone World Championship later in the year.

The ESL Hearthstone Legendary Series Katowice 2016 will take place at the International Congress Center Katowice on March the 6th, with more information about the online qualifiers available here.
