Team Exile 5 acquired the roster of Team Sidewinder on January 17, and quickly established a name for themselves by qualifying for the Halo World Championship Tour: Sydney. They will represent Australiua/New Zealand as the second seed from that region during the Halo World Championship, and we learned a bit more about the team recently.
ESL: What is your team's strongest/weakest map?
Exlile5: Strongest – Truth CTF, Weakest – Empire Strongholds
ESL: In your opinion, what is the best Spartan ability and what’s the best way to use it?
Exile5: Ground and Pound – It is the new BXR. Best used in clutch situations, when you have no other choice but to clamber to a high spot and ground and pound.
ESL: What was the greatest obstacle your team had to overcome in order to qualify for worlds?
Exile: As well as life and personal challenges, we had only been a team for two weeks coming into our regional finals. We had to put in a LOT of hours to catch up and keep up with the top teams. This means everything to us, and we are going to do everything we have to in order to take first place.
ESL: What part of your game does your team have to improve on most in order to win?
Exile5: Making sure we play our style of game. Fast paced and aggressive as often as we can. We have better ‘chaotic teamwork’ than any other team out there. If we can force that, we can walk away with 1st place.
ESL: Which team are you most excited to play? Least excited to play?
Exile5: Most excited to play EG. They have been around a very long time, much like our teammate Adz. I think it will be a tight series between us.
Least excited to play – Honestly a hard question, because we are excited to play everybody. But probably CLG – as it will be a quick win for us.
The Halo World Championship will happen live in Hollywood, California on March 18-20 where 16 teams from around the world will compete for the title of Halo World Champion and a share of the $2,500,000 prize pool.
