FAB Games eSports showed extreme persistence all season by putting in an effort at three different qualifier finals before finally making it to the Halo World Championship Tour: Cologne. They finished in the top four in Cologne, securing their spot at the Halo World Championship. We asked Daniel "Doodle" Petersen to answer a few questions as the team gets ready for the matches later this month.

ESL: What is your team's strongest/weakest map?

We've had a lot of success with Coliseum CTF. I feel like we understand how to push into the other teams' flag, get a good pull, and cut off the opposing team really well.
A game type like Regret Slayer also suits our aggressive play style really well. I personally feel like we have to go through a few CTFs and Strongholds a bit more though.

ESL: In your opinion, what is the best Spartan ability and what’s the best way to use it?

The thruster pack is an awesome ability that plays such a big part in the gameplay. A well-timed thrust in a normal 1-on-1 gunfight can really help you win your battles.
It's also used in standard maneuvering around the map and is a big reason for the fast-paced gameplay of Halo 5.

ESL: What was the greatest obstacle your team had to overcome in order to qualify for worlds?

I'm going to have to say Pulse Gaming. They really proved to me that they are the best team in France, when they're on top of their game and they most certainly were against us in the quarter-final.

ESL: What part of your game does your team have to improve on most in order to win?

I feel like we need to be more on the same page sometimes. Out-slaying your opponent is good in objective gametypes, but if we don't have a common goal/gameplan, then we're making it really difficult for ourselves.

ESL: Which team are you most excited to play? Least excited to play?

I'm very excited to possibly play one of the Australian teams. I've heard a lot about their skill and my team is ready to see what they have to offer. I definitely can't wait to play against some of the NA teams as well. I've followed many of them for years and to have the chance to beat them at the biggest Halo tournament in history fuels me.

The Halo World Championship will happen live in Hollywood, California on March 18-20 where 16 teams from around the world will compete for the title of Halo World Champion and a share of the $2,500,000 prize pool.
