After the dominant performance by Samsung Galaxy on day one of Intel Extreme Masters Gyeonggi, the 2nd placed team from KeSPA Cup, Kongdoo Monsters, was in focus as they had their first ever matches against teams from other regions after renaming from e-mFire. Going up against Dark Passage, Team Liquid and GIANTS Gaming, they got the chance to follow SSG’s lead and set the path for a possible all Korean grand final at Goyang Sports Complex.

- Dark Passage 0-2 Team Liquid
- GIANTS Gaming 0-2 Team Liquid
Kongdoo Monsters were able to secure the first spot in group B by winning against Dark Passage and GIANTS Gaming. After losing their opening match to GIANTS, Team Liquid were able to complete their run in the lower bracket, beating both Dark Passage and GIANTS convincingly with 2-0 and they will now face Samsung Galaxy in the first semi this Friday.
