Fourth day of ESL One Cologne 2016 may be done and dusted, but the second day on the big stage at a sold out LANXESS arena was set to bring us two big series, deciding which two teams get the chance to continue their journey towards the grand final in front of the ecstatic crowd. Team Liquid vs. Fnatic
On Cbble, Team Liquid were able to get the better start and were in lead after a strong first half as CT. Fnatic came back from in the second half, taking over the lead and looking rock solid. However, the momentum shifted over to Liquid once more, taking the upper hand and winning the first map in an impressive fashion and leaving the crowd going wild.
Starting on Cache it was once more Team Liquid setting the pace. With their strong defense, the US Team was able to score eleven rounds to put a lot of pressure on the three times major winners Fnatic. The Swedes came back from this with a strong defense on their own, taking over the lead before TL was able to score their first T round. However, Team Liquid once more went on a spree, advancing to the grand final as the very first team from North America!
The results:
Cbble: Team Liquid 16-13 Fnatic
Cache: Team Liquid 16-13 Fnatic
Overall: Team Liquid 2-0 Fnatic
