2019 was a big year for ESL, with multiple tournaments racking up record-breaking numbers!
What’s New
The next level of Counter-Strike action was introduced by ESL and DreamHack; The Pro Tour. This $5 Million global circuit brings tournaments to countries around the world, making it the world’s largest and most lucrative circuit in Counter-Strike’s 20-year history. Embracing the ‘zero to hero’ aspect of esports, the collaboration aims to create a compelling story for fans to follow. The Pro Tour was also launched for StarCraft II and Warcraft 3: Reforged.
ESL also underwent a major brand-refresh in 2019, updating its image with a new award-winning, stand out identity. As part of the brand-refresh, a new architecture for its tournaments and leagues were created (Masters, Challenger and Open). This aims to make esports more available to everyone, with the new brand positioning ‘where everybody can be somebody’ reflecting this.
