ESL is excited to announce that it will be further helping to broaden the horizons of international esports competition with ESL One Manila by PLDT Fibr and GameX, Southeast Asia’s largest ever esports event. ESL One Manila will see local Filipino Dota 2 teams invited to compete for a whopping US$250,000 prize pool in order to help further establish the region’s burgeoning esports scene.
ESL One’s first appearance on the Asian continent will also mark a prize money milestone of US$750,000, bringing ESL even closer to fulfilling its promise of pledging one million dollars in Dota 2 prize money over a twelve-month period.
Ulrich Schulze, VP of Pro Gaming at ESL, said of the announcement:
"ESL has been eager to bring ESL One to Southeast Asia, and with the Philippines’ rich Dota 2 history, we couldn’t think of a better place. ESL One Manila by PLDT Fibr and GameX will make history as the region’s largest esports competition to date, and we’re confident we can deliver a world-class experience to local and international fans both at the venue and online."
The ESL One Manila lineup will feature some of the world’s top Dota 2 teams alongside a local Filipino competitor, and will take place from April the 23rd to the 24th 2016 in the Mall of Asia Arena. Tickets will be available for purchase from 18:00 PHT (11:00 CET) tomorrow over at the ESL One site, so get ready to grab yours!
