Are you ready for the Mortal Kombat X ESL Pro League?

We are thrilled to announce the Mortal Kombat X Pro League and surrounding tournaments! The latest installment of the Mortal Kombat series will be making a splash in the esports scene in the coming months and you can be a part of it by participating in the open cups or simply tuning in to the broadcasts!

Mortal Kombat X Fatal 8 Exhibition Tournament

Kickings things off is the Fatal 8 Exhibition Tournament on April the 11th, when we’ve invited eight accomplished players to showcase competitive Mortal Kombat X (MKX) to the world in a single elimination tournament while being broadcast by a talented team of hosts and commentators. Each Fatal 8 player will be drafted into one of the Mortal Kombat X Factions: Link Kuei, Black Dragon, Special Forces, Brotherhood of Shadow and White Lotus.

Preseason

In order to give players time to prepare for the start of the regular season, we will offer a set of preseason cups. Sign up here to get into the fighting groove before Pro League rolls around!

When: April 19th to April 29th
Prizes: US$500 per cup
Format:

  • Four cups for NA and EU, two cups for CIS
  • NA/EU play on Xbox One, CIS on PC

Pro League

The regular season of the Pro League will officially get underway on May the 3rd, stretching over eight cups per region. Each cup is open to the public, so sign up here and you’ll be on your way to securing yourself the valuable Pro League points needed to advance to the global finals at the end of the season.

  • US$1,000 weekly

Format:

  • Eight cups per region
  • Single elimination
  • Best of five (including finals)
  • Preliminary rounds: TBD
  • Open cups playthrough round of 32
  • Broadcast day starting with round of 16

Schedule:

  • NA/EU - May through June​​ (Open cups on Sundays, broadcast day on Wednesdays)
  • CIS - Throughout May, two cups per week ​(Open cups on Sundays and Thursdays, broadcast days on Wednesdays and Saturdays)

Mid-Season Showdown

The MKX Pro League will feature a Mid-Season Showdown in all regions, offering players a chance to directly qualify for the season finals. The event will be broadcast as an extended live show and offer US$2,500 in prizes for each region. The showdown will take place on May the 23rd for the CIS region, with Europe and North America following suit on June the 3rd.

CIS seasonal finals

The CIS seasonal finals will be hosted at the ESL Poland studios in Katowice on June the 21st. In addition to a guaranteed global finals qualifier slot for the winner, US$5,000 will also be up for grabs. You can catch the action live on NetherRealm’s Twitch channel.

Global finals

The MKX ESL Pro League Season 1 will culminate in a 16-player global final, gathering the best players from all regions at the ESL studios in Burbank, California. The US$50,000 prize pool will also benefit from the sales of the Sub Zero Blue Steel skin.
